Today Online: “When it is not enough for SMRT to apologise for breakdowns”

FMG Director Mr Lee Kok Fatt’s article was published in TODAY Online on Friday 27 October.

In the article, Mr Lee wrote about the aftermath of the flooding incident on the North-South Line. Singaporeans had felt that SMRT was quick to place blame on the maintenance team, and not have their bosses take responsibility for the breakdown.

As much as Mr Khaw said he did not want to create an adversarial relationship between the regulator and the operator, SMRT must work hard to put in place systems and processes to ensure a high level of rail reliability from now on, or risk having their work handed over to another operator who has a better track record.
